Why breakfast is the ultimate way to kick start healthy living

Whilst practising as a Naturopath, I found breakfast was the one meal people continually struggled with nutritionally. There is simply nothing in the supermarket breakfast aisles that comes close to being good enough for breakfast. So I’ve created this book to solve your breakfast dilemmas with fast, delicious breakfast recipes.

You will feel the difference

For those of you keen to enjoy a healthier life, I’ve seen first-hand the profound difference that encouraging patients to eat well at breakfast has on:

  • their overall health and weight management
  • their ability to cope with daily stressors
  • improving motivation and productivity
  • increasing energy and endurance

Children also benefit enormously as eating a nourishing breakfast improves concentration, focus and rates of learning. Research has proven that adults and children who skip or have an inadequate breakfast, are more likely to make poor food choices throughout the day and in the long term generally. Those that eat well at breakfast, tend to have much more nutritious diets overall.

Sinus relief & immune boosting

The Neti Pot is a small pot used for nasal irrigation. The nasal cavity is washed to flush out excess mucus and debris from the nose and sinuses. Cleaning can be with warm solution with or without natural additives. In the Ayurveda tradition, Neti cleansing helps Kapha inbalance and so to naturally relieve allergies, nasal congestion, sinus infections, pressure, asthma, colds, headaches, post-nasal drip or low immune system. Ideal before meditation or Pranayama which involve deep breathing through the nostrils. Jala Neti is sometimes used up to 4 times a day.

Guided Meditation

Tara Brach’s teachings blend Western psychology and Eastern spiritual practices, mindful attention to our inner life, and a full, compassionate engagement with our world. The result is a distinctive voice in Western Buddhism, one that offers a wise and caring approach to freeing ourselves and society from suffering.

Relaxation Yoga

In yoga, relaxation refers to the loosening of bodily and mental tension. Keeping muscles in a constant alert or flight or fight state expends a great amount of your energy.

Yoga can be an extremely effective stress management tool, can be useful before sleep to reduce insomnia and helps to release the tension held in our muscles that we hold onto from our busy lives.............
